This form of dentistry focuses on children from birth to adolescence. Typically, we recommend to start bringing your child for dental check ups from age 2, this way, we can check on their: chewing habits, speech production, growth, and to make a plan if we notice any oral health issues beginning to development.
From the time of birth to 1.5 years old, infants still need to have oral care. We suggest wiping your infants gums and teeth with a warm cloth after each meal and refrain from sugary foods and beverages.
From the age of 2 to 6 years old, a child should be taught how to properly brush their teeth. This should be done with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste with a small amount of fluoride.
From the age of 6 - 12 years old, brushing and flossing should be a part of your child's morning and nightly routine to ensure they do not get cavities or cause any long-term damage.
